Alt12 Apps™ is the leading developer of cross-platform mobile apps for women. Utilizing a proprietary framework, we deliver award-winning apps with rich, native experiences, compelling content and beautiful design.

Sliprose™, our proprietary framework, is comprised of an arsenal of reusable native technologies for use across our apps that cover everything from device notifications to location-awareness to media capture. Our apps are available on iOS, Android, and Palm webOS and written in the OS language native to the device. This means our iPhone apps are Cocoa and Objective C, our Android apps are in Java against the platform SDK, and we use native Mojo widgets on Palm. We use cross-platform alternatives on occasion, such as HTML5/CSS3, but for the most part we believe that native apps provide our users with the most rewarding experience.

We believe anything you use every day should be beautiful and a joy to use. We create apps that are used by women every day and throughout their lives. In our mobile apps, this means providing rich and comprehensive feature-sets that are at the same time intuitive and fun to use. Personalization is core to the experiences we provide, including the ability to add your own photo and to pick from themes that affect every aspect of the UI.

Alt12 Apps has created its own front-end client technology as well as back-end infrastructure to support our mobile community. Factors such as bandwidth and screen size restrictions make managing user generated content and community on mobile devices challenging. Our apps use all-native user interface components, and over the wire, we use json that is free of markup. The result is a superb experience that feels like it is natural to the device, is extremely fast, and is easy on users' data plans.

As an extension of community, Facebook and Twitter have been part of ours apps from the beginning. BabyBump was the first pregnancy app to allow Twittering your contractions and the sharing of kick counts on Facebook. Users can connect their Alt12 accounts seamlessly with their Facebook and Twitter accounts using FB Graph or OAuth. Our apps help women capture some of life's most cherished events and we make it easy to transfer those memories from the device in your hand to family and friends.

Telemetry is a large part of our apps, from the ability to track fertility to timing the length of contractions. This type of data is valuable and we take it seriously. We've created our own backup solution that syncs with the cloud and works across devices (coming soon). Android phone users today will be able to seamlessly transition to iPhone tomorrow and vice versa. Today, Alt12's apps are available across smartphones and soon you will be able to backup your data on one and restore on another. Soon, this same technology will allow syncing in near real-time between devices, such as between an iPhone and iPad, or allow a user’s family and friends to follow progress from afar.
