Let's discuss the things they don't tell you in books about being a first time mom. Experienced moms please weigh in. I'll do my best to remember how awkward and terrifying those first weeks are.
THINGS NOBODY TELLS YOU
1) You will become a poop expert!
2) Your baby WILL have a blowout, most likely in public, so bring extra clothes or a blanket. You can torture your child with the story when they are a teenager.
I will add more as I remember them. Please feel free to add your own.

Some tips I've heard:
-Get a portable crib with a built in changing table
-If you're going to breast feed buy nipple balm!
-if you delivery vaginally make sure to bring home the squirt bottle from the hospital!

My dd started reactively laughing yesterday! Great Mother's day gift :) It was in reaction to a toy my mom was playing with her and she did it multiple times. LOVE the sound of her laughter!!!!

Hi, how are you keeping LOs neck folds clean and dry. Caitlyn is a messy eater with lots of spit up and I'm finding it hard to keep her neck clean.

We currently own the mamaroo but my lo doesn't like it. As soon as I put him in there he starts crying within a few minutes. I am going to have to get a different one so I can put him down for awhile without him crying. Which swings do you ladies own and is it battery/ac adapter? How much do your lo's like it and how often do you put them in there?

Our natural birthing coach gave me this tip thought I would share and hopefully get some others!
Chammomile ice pack pads.
Take your pads or pantyliners put them on a cookie sheet on wax paper pour fresh chammomile tea on them and let them absorb put in freezer and freeze take out and stack with a small piece of wax paper in between each one. Use after birth as a healing ice pack.
