I was bfing my baby in the nursing room. Then suddenly a mother n a crying lil girl came in to the next cubicle. I heard she lock the door n scold the child. The lil girl cried so loud. N then i heard the mom hitting her again n again n daring her to cry more.
She stopped crying.
Then the mother keep on scolding her about her running around n not listening to her.
N something about she cried/throwing tantrum because the stuff she wanted is not available. I dont know the details because half of the time the mom speak in chinese.
After a while she dare her to cry louder. The girl was silent. So again i heard her hitting her until she cried. She said "if u want to cry then cry! Louder!"
i think it was how she teach her to not throwing tantrum in public.
I really feel bad, but if its not my place to interrupt. I was raised that way. N I seen more n more of parents did this.
I dont know how far the hitting until it can be called abuse? Since hitting children as punishment was quite common in asia (mostly it was behind the closed door tho...)
