last name

Does anyone know if when you do the birth certificate, I want my son to have my grandparents last name since both my father and his father arnt in the picture and their last name actually means something to me. Is this allowed?

when i had my 1st baby my husband wanted to keep his moms last name & before he even made it legal, we had our baby & gave her Freeman as last name, and neither of us had it as a last name & have never had a problem. Just because both of your last names will be different does not mean you will have paternity problems or such thin, remember your name will always be printed in the birth certificate.

Little One's On Her Way!

Last night my contractions started and although I could sleep through them at first, around two in the morning I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. They've gotten a lot closer together and they're more painful. They range from 3-5 minutes, so now I'm about to head to l&d so they can check me out. I'm trying for all natural, but I'm still open to epi. Here I go! Wish me luck! (Will try to get on this at the hospital)

Just curious, who are you all having in the delviery room with you when the baby is born? I was originally thinking of having my boyfriend, my mother, his mother, and my sister. With my 1st we wanted it to be private just him & I, but since the word got out that I was in L&D both my mother & mother in law showed up and were there through out all the hours of labor, and before we all knew it, it was time to push so they were there too, my mom held a leg & my husband the other & my in law took pictures. So it was not bad, don't mind if they are there again.
