Our pediatrician gave the OK to start my DD on whole milk. He asked me to NOT put it in a bottle and serve from a sippy cup exclusively and keep it cold so we don't run into her only wanting warm milk down the road. Anyways, she barely drinks the milk out of her sippy. This isn't going to work for us so I did some research online & read you can start by slowly mixing the formula & whole milk together and within a week she could be familiar with the taste of whole milk. Also, I read that you shouldn't begin this with the first or last bottle of the day.
Now my question is should I begin doing this in her sippy cup & not the bottle? She only gets 3 bottles a day so I was thinking about giving her formula in a bottle in the AM & PM then introducing the milk mixed with formula in a sippy cup in the afternoon. This way I can begin weaning her off the bottle as well.
Do any of you think that I'll have issues giving her it in a sippy cup only for one feeding for now? I don't want to have to start all over with introducing the milk again for her day and night bottle as well.
Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions are greatly welcomed :)
I don't know if it's teething or what, but lately my baby wants to be all up on me. All.the.time. His thing right now is to attack my face and hair with his mouth. I am constantly covered in his sweat and saliva. Not to mention he wants very little to do with my husband these days, especially at bedtime. I am literally the only one who can put him down. I love my little guy so much and I know I'll probably miss this phase when he's older and wants nothing to do with me .... ????
Same thing here! She doesn't even want to go to her daddy either. She screams for me. I'm just embracing it although it's impossible to get anything done. She leaves me frazzled lol
Hey - just wanted to put this out there in case anyone thinks its a good idea. Since it's back to school time, you can get crayons/markers pretty cheap. I got 24 ct crayola crayons 4 for $1.00 and Elmo coloring books at the dollar store. So Cooper's party favors only cost $1.25 a kid.
Yes!! Were doing Mickey mouse clubhouse and I scored play packs which include a 24 page coloring book, crayons, and stickers of Mickey and/Minnie for $1 at target. Also they have books for $1. Love cheap stuff haha
I actually think she's a good combination of you both ;) dont worry I always get my DD looks like her daddy meanwhile our baby pictures we could pass for twins haha.
Hi ladies! I think it may almost be time to switch my LO to a rear facing convertible car seat. I've started to look online at safety ratings and reviews but it is so overwhelming. Does anyone recommend or have experience with a brand? I'd love something affordable since I plan to buy 2 seats, one for our SUV and one for grandma's. I'm a working mom and LO is with grandma during the days so she needs a seat for emergencies but of course, a SAFE seat is my #1 priority. Any opinions or recommendations?
So I did sleep easy before with Patrick but I still did his night feeds the same it was just to get him to go to sleep. Now it's time I stop night feeds ;( I'm so sad already. My duh told me not to sleep home tomorrow night but I'd feel bad not being there. I'm just afraid he won't be able to self soothe ;( any advice??
What we did was wean our DD off the night bottle by giving her 1oz less per bottle each night. For example: she was getting 6oz at night so the first night we gave her 5oz then 4oz,3,2,1 then nothing. We made sure to replace the missing 6oz in her daytime bottles this way we knew she was still getting the same amount during a 24hr period. Also we followed the sleep easy book and tried to feed her while she was sleeping. That part didn't really work for us because she is such a light sleeper lol but<br />Worth a shot. She didn't sleep through the night right away but we never gave her a bottle again unless she was going through a growth spurt. The thing that really did the trick with my LO was feeding her more. I upped the oz in her bottles by 4oz more during the day and also fed her 3 meals instead of 2. After that she slept peacefully til 6-6:30. Hope all goes well! Its tough hearing them CIO but we did it our DD went from taking 25-30 cat naps to sleeping a full hour.
Is anyone using crib bumpers now that your baby is older? My daughter's limbs are constantly get stuck in between her crib bars and I'm about to put the bumpers in the crib.
