(whew...my auto correct changed mommies to ninnies! Glad I caught that)
Some tips I've heard:
-Get a portable crib with a built in changing table
-If you're going to breast feed buy nipple balm!
-if you delivery vaginally make sure to bring home the squirt bottle from the hospital!

CAUTION: dont read if your a bit worried about delivery. Im not posting this to scare people.. This is just my story..
So after being diagnosed with pre eclampsia at week 36w3d my dr had me admitted to hospital. Saturday afternoon we started induction gel. I had mild cramps until 9 that night. My ob checked me and was about to place the 2nd lot of gel when she noticed bubs h/beat was decelerating a little with contractions.
Luckily she is overcautious and ordered a c section. Hubby and I were not happy about this, but decided to trust her.
We had a little boy, Levi Bailey at 1123 that night. Hub and bub were whisked away and that's when things got very scary. Turns out I had a grade 4 placenta previa and placenta accreta, which had not been picked up on my many many scans. I started to bleed out. At first I didn't think too much of it but when I started seeing their faces I knew it was serious. Just as they were phoning for a blood transfusion and a hysterectomy I heard the dr say "wait wait!! Her uterus is contracting!" and with that they were able to control the bleed and save my womb. Was the scariest hour of my life. Investgations are underway due to something so serious not being picked up. The dr told us the next day that my baby and I would have died if we had not had the c section and continued with the vaginal delivery. (this has just hit me the last couple of days) ...
No matter how scary it was, and how painful the recovery is, my little man is worth every second. I have a very special miracle baby, and I love him to pieces!!! I'm so thankful to still be here and to experience being a FTM. It's AMAZING!!

Just got a phone call from my ob - I'm off to hospital! Now the nerves are really kicking in. Blood tests show I now have pre eclampsia. I'm only 36w4d so getting a steroid injection tonight for the baby. I'm truly worried it's too early for my little mans arrival. Words of encouragement needed ladies!!! Bonnie & tazz- love you both!!!! Will update soon.....
