I'm 6 and 1/2 weeks postpartum and hubby and I have tried having sex two different times.. But I had to stop only minutes after starting (sorry so detailed) because it hurt to bad. I couldn't bring myself to put up with the pain=( my Doc gave the ok so is it going to always hurt no mater how long we wait?
I tore during delivery..on top of my episiotomy. But at 3 weeks my hubby and I just got carried away and ended up going all the way (without Dr green light!) but it was ok! Sore for a day. So once a week we would do it again. Thought all was fine. Then around week 7.. After the ok from Dr., I had the sharpest pain! It was so painful! I was afraid to try again bc it hurt that much!!! I think it is a lot of how you feel.. Whether you're ready or not. We have tried again but remembering that pain still scares me each time. I agree with previous post, Takes a long time of foreplay to feel up to it. And then it's fine.
I had a natural vaginal delivery as well.. Our bodies are truly amazing! My contractions never got to the 5-min apart rule til I was hitting the 8cm mark. So I was at home (unknowing) til then. So when I got to hospital I was 8-9 cm dilated. So took it all natural. Pushing was fast, about half hr. And felt amazing!! Reading Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth helped me plenty. So did all the baths I took every hour. I was up and walking that same day i delivered. Taking the first BM was the scariest for me ;-p

I've seen c sect recovery b4 and that pushed me to start preparing for a vaginal birth. The natural (no epidural) part was a plus.
I'm planning on breastfeeding and I was just wondering are u able to go on the oral contraceptive pill whilst breastfeeding? And can it affect the baby or milk production?
I was prescribed the mini pill as well, start tomorrow.. I'll keep you posted. Hope my milk supply stays strong. But as a side note, apparently as soon as you stop nursing the pill will no longer be useful. And it is imperative that it be taken every day, no missed doses and doubling later. No taking doses later than usual. Dr told me that it really has to be taken at same time each day. Stricter than a regular pill.
I am having a hard time finding a birth control that is right for me. My baby is 7 weeks and I was wanting to look into something. Implanon looked ok. I was reading about it and there was some pretty mean side effects. Has anyone used this and what other experiences have you had? Including periods?
Are you breastfeeding/pumping? I was given the mini-pill Camila. Haven't started yet.. But as a note that my dr didn't mention, apparently as soon as I stop nursing, this will not cut it..
Ok so those of us who are 1st time moms and are planning a natural birth, I think we would benefit alot from other moms who have done this before us to tell us your stories. I'm intending this to be a supportive post, so please be honest about your experiences. Also no scare tactics please, at least I'm not looking for someone to talk me out of my decision. Thanks for sharing,
I'm a first time mom and I just delivered my baby Aug 20, 2010 all natural! My contraction never got to 5 min apart until I arrived at hospital to find out I was 8-9cm dilated. Labor lasted 50+ hrs. But only about 12 were active labor. I took hot baths. Maybe 3-4 in the last 12 hrs. I spent all night in the bathroom. It helped so much to sit on toilet n squat at sink. I kept counting seconds through the pain. Sitting on birthing ball helped a lot. Eventually my back felt like it was on fire.. That's when I knew I needed epi. So headed to hospital expecting to b 5-6cm. I had been sent home twice bc either I didn't want pitocin (at 3cm) and bc my contractions were too far apart (10 -15 min at 4cm). I realized being at hospital slowed my labor. N it felt more painful. So in those last 12 hrs I went to eat at restaurant with hubby, we did laundry, n went walking. Everyone could tell I was in labor. Being afraid to get sent home again was what kept me strong all night. I didn't even cry or scream. My hubby slept through everything. I did dilate very slowly but when I found out I was 8-9cm and had done it all myself. I got a rush to do it all natural! And it took 5hrs to dilate the last cm and only after breaking my water did it happen. But I only pushed 30min and baby was out!!! I could feel everything!!!! And it was amazing! I wanted a natural birth from start. But I knew I would take an epidural if given a choice. I'm glad I didn't have a choice because I didn't want pitocin. I strongly recommend reading INA MAY's GUIDE TO CHILDBIRTH.. it is what I read that kept me going strong while at home. I knew the contractions would end. I knew my baby was coming. I knew the pain was constructive. I knew I was not going to break or suffer from this experience. And it was great! And I do believe the contractions felt more painful at hospital. Laying down. Just waiting for the next and focusing on only the contraction. Being home was therapeutic. But I'd suggest it only if your pregnancy is low-risk. I had a healthy pregnancy and I'm healthy overall. But I was still worried about baby's heart.. But she did great. She had been in optimal position for weeks. So that helped too! Do plenty of pelvic tilts and cat-cows weeks leading up to delivery day. Oh and recovery was super fast i was up and walking and peeing like nothing by that night. GOOD LUCK!!
If u have any questions.. Let me know. While I still remember it all...
Yay we did it!! Had mine exactly on the 20th! All natural.. Kept going to hospital. But refused pitocin so they'd send me home. Next time I wanted pitocin n epi but dr denied me bc contractions too far apart. By time I actually got the 5-1-1 contract I returned to hospital to find out I was 8-9cm. No wonder my back had felt like it was on fire! The adrenaline rush I got when I found out was immense! So went for it w/o drugs.. Great experience!!

CONGRATS EVERYONE!
At my first dr appt around 9 weeks my dr examed me and said she believes I have hpv. I had no idea and little symptoms until now. I am experiencing a pretty bad outbreak and I don't know if I should call my dr or just wait until my next appt at 13 weeks?any advise would be greatly appriciated!
Hi ladies, can someone please tell me what the heck those labor balls are for? I mean, I know that they are suppose to help with labor pains, but how? What is so great about them? TIA!
The ball has been my go-to for pain relief in this last month! It's the only thing that eases my back pain.. Sitting on it does not restrict your lower body like a chair or couch. When I have a hard time breathing I'll squat in front of the ball and lay back on it... Works wonderfully!! My fav for back pain is knees on the floor, hugging the ball in front of me and rocking slowly. It really stretches ur body w/o stress to any one area!
It's done! 11 hrs of labor and she's finally here! And early too!! Congrats to everyone, and in the end it's all totally worth every painful second!! God bless and good luck!
CONGRATS guys!!! 11-12 hours seems fair.. Maybe bc I've yet to go through the pain. But I will do anything to have my little girl in my arms soon! It must be the best feeling in the world!
