Katenbump, many times it's not that simple. In my case, I was put on strong doses of steroids and other meds when severe chemical burns would not heal. Despite a carefully controlled vegetarian diet and exercising a MINIMUM of two hours a day, I gained over 100 pounds in less than 6 months. Now, four years later, I have only gained more and no doctor has been able to help me come to a solution. It's frustrating... especially when there are people out there who judge those who are overweight as people who "just need to diet and exercise."

OP, I'm so sorry your missing out on the early moments. I have dealt with a few myself and understand your frustration. Luckily my diet has helped keep away the GD, but I haven't had much luck feeling movement and the midwife had some trouble finding the heartbeat with the Doppler.... it can be scary at times.

This one always amazes me. I have yet to understand why complete strangers feel it's okay to touch a woman so intimately... most the time without asking first... just because that woman is pregnant.

My solution has been to either comment that I'm "just fat, not pregnant" or to do as another said and return the unwelcome touch. The looks are always priceless. LOL Sure, it's probably a bit rude, but no more so than what they did!
