My daughter is a thumb sucker. Has been since she was about 5 1/2-6 months old. At first it was just to sleep and at naptime, but over the past couple months she sucks on it just to suck on it. It wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't breaking skin but she is. She grinds and bites her thumb with her 4 bottom teeth and even her molars that are starting to come in. Her thumb is full of cuts and scabs and i don't know how to get her to stop. Anybody know of safe ways to get thumb suckers to stop sucking their thumb? TIA

My DS drinks whole milk twice a day (8 oz each time). He made the switch about 2 weeks ago. We have noticed he has had a lot of gas in the past few days and this is the only change we could think of. He drinks his milk out of a sippy cup but he drinks it like he would drink a bottle (straight through without stopping or only stopping once). Am I doing something wrong to cause the gas? Should I make him only take smaller sips (when we tried encouaging smaller sips at first he wouldn't finish the milk). Or do you think it is the whole milk?

Dilated at 5! Number 2 is on her way! We still can't decide between Sofia and Gia for the name. My first son just turned 1 2 days ago. Ahhh i can't believe i am doing this all over again!

So my son just turned one. He's been a pretty calm baby so far but he's now going through this phase where he's throws fits anytime he doesn't get his way which is like every 5 mins!! He has also started biting a lot! I do childcare and anytime one of the other kids makes him mad he immediately tries to bit them! I don't know how to handle this! Should I ignore him when he freaks out?! Should I bit him back?

It was soo easy naming my boys, they had a name within days of finding out the gender. I'm almost 26 weeks with little lady and am stuck. I've known she was a girl since 14 weeks, confirmed at 17. I know for a fact Cynthia is her middle name, her last name is a 4 letter name that rhymes with Fall. I love having my baby named early, it helps me bond and identify with the "alien" inside me as a person.
My problem is I have no idea how to start. I'll come up with a name I like but it doesn't sound right or it just doesn't feel like that's her name. I also have a lot of negative associations with a lot of girl names or the ones I'm drawn to are taken already by close friends, co workers or relatives. Does that matter, is it tacky to name your baby the same name when you see these people regularly? Did your name seem "right" or did you just go with a name you kept coming back to/liked? Are there any websites that take the last and middle and give you ideas or something along those lines? I know I have time, but it's driving me crazy and I'd love to start on personalized baby items and whatnots.
