You can get Chlorsig drops over the counter, but will need a script for the ointment. It works well! It's important to do lots of hand washing too, you or Tempe really don't want to get it! You can also get little wipes (think they are called Little Eyes), they are great for wiping her eyes and removing any yuckiness, they're so gentle. Good luck!

Definitely does differ baby to baby, but after my first 2, I became a real stickler for feed, play, change, wrap and down awake (from 5 weeks). In the early days she was only up for 45 mins but now it's 2 hours. I'm still wrapping now, trying to think about ditching it. I have also slept bub's 3 and 4 on their sides from day dot. I'm also much more relaxed and so were no 3 and 4 (coincidence - not sure?!?). No. 2 was a nightmare from birth so I've definitely seen both sides. I still feed at night if necessary (aka - she wakes up), most nights it's somewhere between 3.30 and 6.00 and she usually goes back no problems. If it's 6 or later she's usually up then. Now all I have to do is go to bed before 11!!

3 sleeps - 1 x 2 hours and 2 x 1 hour naps. The long nap is usually the first or second one. She's up for 2 hours between naps. If the last one is due too close to bed time, she has a quick 20 mins in her swing, instead of going in to her cot. She's 6 months on Wed!

FFS!!!!!!!
The comments on this post made me so cranky last night I couldn't respond!
I have used CC once successfully and once it was a horrendous disaster!
To answer your question Melly, I would not leave a baby (regardless of age) unattended all night if they wake distressed, it goes against every instinct I have as a mother!
Small babies have tiny tummies and need to be feed when they wake at night - they get hungry more frequently! Particularly BF ones!
To all the FTM and those who are expecting - along with the amazing joy that comes with becoming a new Mum you will also discover a new level of emotion you never knew was possible! Your baby will take time to get to know! They don't read any manual before they are born and may not meet the expectations of one that you have read. They will cry, sometimes when they are tired, hungry, have wind and other times just because! They have tiny tummies and will get hungry frequently - 24 hours a day! They will make you laugh, cry and fill your lives beyond belief! It can be tough in the early months but I promise IT DOESN'T go on forever! It will be the hardest and absolutely best job you ever do!!

Yep as 2boysandabump suggested. Feed, burp, play, change, wrap and bed (awake). I personally sleep my LO on her side between this bolster thing which keeps her in position (you can get them from baby stores and they are adjustable). She's 6 months now and is up for 2 hours between sleep but 99% of the time goes down with hardly a peep! At 8 weeks she would have been up for a total of an hour. If bub gets over tired you'll struggle!! Good luck!

I have been for a week with DS. He was 12 months and I was at my wits end. It wasn't a miracle cure, but we did see improvements. We didn't pay for it, it was covered by private health insurance.
