If took me a cpl hours to start feeling contractions, not verg long. However they started to come on verg strong and very fast with very little progress until I got the epidural which allowed my body to relax the dilate. But I have heard that for some women it doesn't even take, I'm guessing this is not the norm tho.

I think it was like 30 mins to an hr for me and the contractions was very strong and my epi didn't work and I had very bad back labor! Hope it's different this time but I also have to be induced again!! Good luck

they had me on pitocin for 8 hours before anything happened. Trying to avoid induction this time.

It didn't take me anywhere near an hour. But I was already contracting when I got there. (all three times!)

OMG every one is different but not me. I received pitocin for 2 deliveries and both times by babies were out within 1 hour or less. Apparently I react rapidly to pitocin. Im hoping to be induced again and at my 30 week check up this past Tuesday the doctor said its possible but they only consider it at 39 weeks so we see. At least I know with the Pitocin what to expect. This will be my 4th child and all together I have a total of 5 hours delivery time for the 3 children I currently have.

3rd child was induced because Dr feared he would be large like my 1st who was 9 lbs but in the end my 2nd was 8 lbs. As for my 3rd my amniotic fluid stared to leak slowly at 37 1/2 weeks and Dr said we needed to deliver within 24 hours to prevent infection she was 7 lbs. So we see only God and my little one can predict or affect the outcome, Aloha Ladies
