Huge breast lump, cancer scare, 37 weeks

Not sure where to post this... I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. At 35 weeks while taking a bath I found a single, large, solid lump in my left breast. At my 36 week appointment I showed my doctor and I am scheduled for an ultrasound of my breast with a needle aspiration if needed. My grandmother passed away of breast cancer at age 40, I am 32 and terrified of what the test will show. Everything I have read concerning breast cancer and pregnancy has only made me feel worse. Apparently hormonal changes in pregnancy advance tumor growth and prognosis for a pregnant woman is rarely good. Has anyone else went through this or know anyone who has? I am praying it will turn out to be a benign cyst. It is also common for lumps to go ignored by patients and doctors in pregnancy because of so many "normal" body changes at that time... please if any of you find any strange lumps have them checked immediately and don't let anyone talk you into waiting or dismiss your concerns even your doctor. I am terrified but I am thankful my daughter is full term an if need be my labor can be safely induced and necessary treatments can begin. My last in office breast exam was at 20 weeks and nothing was felt but I do wish now I had asked them to check at each visit. Thank you for reading and any personal experience you could share with me would be appreciated greatly.

it might just be engorged or a swollen duct no need to panicky just yet and if you as most pregnent women do have been holding your breasts or readjusting them 24/7 and you didn't notice Til that bath day chances are its not cancer and if it were you are strong and you caught it early. both my aunts had cancer once one found out the whole family check ed and the other one had it too. after 2 months of therapy each they both came out with their breasted healthy and clean of cancer. one of them breastfed 2 years later ( last year) with no issues. but for now. don't worry your putting your baby and you through stress before you can do anything about it. just wait for the results and stay optimistic

test results are back from ultrasound... it is a solid tumor and they are going to wait until one month after I deliver to do a biopsy to check if its begnign or malignant... please continue to pray for me and my family.. thank-you.

I've had a lump in my breast since before I was pregnant. My doctor didn't even act concerned... Just said we'd take a better look after pregnancy. Now I'm worried.

Update... on July 10th my dr called to confirm positive breast cancer diagnosis (invasive ductal carcinoma) I had a c-section on July 11th and gave birth to a beautiful healthy 6.14 baby girl. Since then I have started seeing an oncologist, had many scans, a port put in, and have started chemo... good news my scans showed that even though the cancer is aggressive it hasn't spread!! Thank God!! So the plan is 6 months of chemo followed by a double mastectomy. I'm trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time, and keep my life very normal and I only consider myself a cancer patient when I'm at the doctor also I decided to get a jump on my hair falling out by having it cut and donated to Locks of Love... Cancer is ugly but a strong fight can be beautiful.

Congratulations on your baby girl, it's so great to hear that she has a mum with such a positive outlook. All the best with your health and your future with your daughter.

I am 26, and 12 weeks and 3 days pregnant, at my 12 week appt the doctor did a breast exam and found lumps in left breast, she said its normal during pregnancy, I'm still a little bit nervous as my own mother had breast cancer 11 years ago, but she survived, guess if lumps don't go away after baby is here, I'll be getting them checked out!!
