My dr told me at my first appointment that there's NO WAY to determine gender based on heartbeat. She used this analogy....(my dh was with me) she looked at my dh and said I can check his heart rate right now and it be low bc he's sitting, then I can have him run up the hall and back and check it again and it be high bc he was moving, but just bc the heart rate was high doesn't make him a girl right? Babies are constantly moving/resting/moving/resting, so there is no way to tell if the babys a boy or girl based on heartbeat. She said we can listen to baby right now and it be one thing ten minutes later it be another but that won't change the gender. My babys heartbeat was 156 the day we found out he was a boy, my last appointment, last week it was 166. His heartbeat is in "girl" range, but he's definitely a boy! Lol he's just very active and moves a WHOLE lot :) your babys heartbeat is in "boy" range but u might just have a lazy girl! Lol no way to tell except an ultrasound (and even those aren't 100%) congrats on ur lo and good luck with everything :)

I heard that if ur baby's heart rate is 140 and over then it's meant to be girl and under 140 then boy . But my daughter was always between 150 and 160 and then my friend baby's heart rate was 154 and she's just had her scan and she's found out hers is a boy . So think it's just wifes tales

I'm having a girl and her heart rate is usually 150's to 160's.

I think it's an old wives tale but I have heard the same thing that you can tell the gender by the hr.

Oh noez...I obviously ruined all the fun..really? Guessing is one thing. I mean you have a 50/50 chance but that has nothing to do with fetal heart rate. However, you will be surprised how many people swear on the Chinese calendar and the heart rate. I will take 50% odds for anything in life.
