Shingles: can they make men sterile?

I'm not sure if this is the right group, but recently found out I was pregnant, 9 weeks now, I informed my partner and he came back with, well it can't br mine as I'm sterile. I asked him why he never said this before, and he said he had shingles prior to us getting together and it makes you infertile. I got one am pretty sure it's mumps, and now he's coming back at say I was unfaithful. I'd there anyone who knows about shingles and fertility in men?

My husband was in the hospital with shingles 6 weeks before our wedding with 103 fever. I asked the dr if he could become sterile and the dr laughed at me and said "no dear, that's the mumps".

Shingles is the same virus as chicken pox. It can in no way make someone sterile. Why does he think this?

Shinqles is just your old chicken pox that was hidden behind a nerve . That has nothinq to do with fertility .

My grandma who is a nurse says yes for women and men but it could be some kind of old wives tale or something.

My brother in law had them and had 3 kids in 3.5 years so I'd say no.
