Low egg count

Just turned 36
My tubes are clear so all good
Hubby's all good

Just been told today by FS I have low egg reserve. I should have 15/20 but am at a 5 which is what a 42 year old would have.

My FS said I can get pregi but best I get help & not wait around ESP if I want more than 1 child.

I am now booked in for a IUI in may unless I get lucky & preggi this month.

Anyone else going or been through this? Having a low egg reserve? FS told me not to worry as better having good eggs in low reserve than lots of bad quality eggs but I still can't stop worrying & crying

Hi ninsin, it's definitely quality over quantity. You have good tubes etc. and it just takes one so dont be too hard on yourself. Good luck x

Even at this age we have had faith in trying and thought we would have at least 2 kids... I just feel like I'm letting my hubby down ...

Hi Ninsin, I'm 34 this year egg count is 7. Supposed to be 14 for my age.
Specialist said to me it only becomes a problem as I get older..... So that being said I want my first by 34. Bit late for that! So new plan I want my first child by 35 second by 37 :)
Now let's see what happens!!! 😄😄

Hi ninsin, I'm 38 and just found out I have the same issue. I tried IUI 3 times, and now I'm on to my second round of IVF. The biggest challenge for us has been to release enough follicles to fertilize. My first round of IVF only produced 4 follies which is pretty low. But 3 of the 4 were great quality and fertilized. However they didn't grow enough to last to transfer. This time I got lucky and produced 5. And 4 fertilized and all made to transfer. So just remember, it's definitely quality over quantity. Don't give up hope, you can still get pregnant. All it takes is ONE good egg! Best of luck!

Thanks!! will stay positive & hope my body reacts to everything well.
My FS said I will need to
Inject my self before IUI not sure what medication that is but I'm praying all goes well.

I was so emotional I said to hubby if I don't get pregi by end of this year I want to
Leave him...

Positive thoughts positive outcome

I have the same thing but I just turned 31 and I have 4 eggs and 5 on the other. My re said ivf will be our only option but I am doing iui anyways bc we aren't going to do ivf bc we have no issuance and if we paid the 10-12 grand and it didn't work it would sink our marriage. With clomid I produce 2 eggs so I'm praying iui works. It's about 460 a round and she will only give us 3 rounds. Naturally she gave us 2% and will iui 8% and ivf 50% she also said my ovaries are that of a 40-45 yr old. All my test come back good my amh and fsh levels are in the norm so im praying 1 of these rounds will work. I hear ya about the cryin I beat myself up every day because of it. My body has failed me and it's so sad. I just want this baby so bad and when i hear someone say i can't it rips my heart out.

Keep me posted on your iuis and such I'm really routing for you. And If u Want to talk I would love to because this is a very emotional thing we are dealing with.

I am currently going to acupuncture 1 time per week in hopes it will bring me closed to my BFP I'm also taking melatonin and Coque10 as well as its good for ur eggs.

I have high fsh and an amh of .6. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with my first at 30 years old. My successful iui was with femara and gonal f injections. I think it was my fourth iui. I highly recommend starting dhea supplements. Please do not give up hope. Also check out network 54 blog for high fsh (google it). There are a lot of women in the same position you are in and lots of wonderful success stories!!

Thanks ladies.
I'll have a look at melatonin, coque 10 & dhea but will ask my FS first before taking it.

I don't know what my other figures are, all I was told is for my age the eggs I have are below average more like what a 40 year old should have.

My ovaries she said are good. She kept saying I can get pregi but best not to hang around and get help. She didn't really say go for ivf she said 2 rounds of IUI if no joy then ivf.

I'll check that blog out.

Just feel so crap! Really do can't help but fear the worst... the FS said I will take FSH shots and the a hsg shot so no other tablets etc.

I feel like my whole world is crumbling & if I don't get preggi my marriage won't last.. Hubby is trying to support me & saying the right things but he can't handle it when I cry & is saying if we don't get preggi by July or after ivf that's when we should worry. I wish I asked my FS with my egg count dies that mean I will go into early menopause? or do I only have 2 years of eggs left? I'm confused because when my hubby asked FS if once she has a baby how soon can we try fir 2nd & she said as soon as she gets her af & as long as she has fully recovered from birth... But then said why would you want them so close?

I asked about freezing my eggs for future & she said it's only 5% with frozen eggs we will get you preggi now... But if I'm running short on eggs shouldn't I have eggs collected for a possible future baby (2nd) baby? I just can't think straight sorry post is so long ...

So if I have a low egg count does that mean I have high fsh? I'm
Confused so if doing IUI why would I need fsh injections?

Hi girls,

I had my 1st IVF done last Aug and wasn't successful. I am 41. Only had 4+2 eggs on left ovary. Didn't produce any on my right. 4 good size & 2 unripe. Only managed to fertilize 3 with 1 good 4 cells. I took a 3 months rest before starting 2nd round of IVF. During the 3 months rest, I seek Chinese physician. Had Chinese herbs and acupuncture. My 2nd IVF is a success. Produced 14 eggs. 8 of left and 6 on right. I think Chinese hens and acupuncture helped. I am now 6wks 4days.

Good luck girls.

Hi Chriswoo,

Were you told you had a low egg count?

How often did you have acupuncture ? And what medicine did they give you?
