First ultrasound

My doctor won't give me a ultrasound till I'm at least 20 weeks!! I'm 15 weeks now but I don't understand why I can't get one sooner because I see alot of people on here that have them sooner.

Are you insured? Call them and they should outline what they cover.. Mine covers 3 ultrasounds.

I'm not high risk so mines not till 20 weeks either.. I hate waiting!

In Australia we typically have one at 12 wks and another at 20.

I got one at 5 weeks and so sad I won't have another until 20:( I want to see a baby not just a itty bitty dot:( I'm sorry:/

That's so weird.. My friend had one at 5weeks.. And I had my first one at 11weeks..

Thats what my dr said too... That if there are no 'red flags' then an ultrasound isn't necessary.
I totally understood and agreed with her logic.
Then I switched doctors.
Got an ultrasound at 11 weeks... So that's always an option.

I'm not high risk. My pregnancy is completely healthy & normal so far. I have already had 3 and still in my first trimester... I'm having another at 20 weeks as well, which will be my fourth....

its prob because ur insurance only covers and anatomy scan or otherwise needed ,nt scans are around 11/14w if u refuse then maybe thats why u havent had any us earlier.i had and nt +i payed a private visit .my anatomy scan is the 13th

Strange...I'm not high risk and I had one at 7 wks, 10 wks, 13 wks and I'll have another at 19w

I've had about 4 (including the NT scan but not including the private one I payed for to determine the gender) I will be 15 weeks tomorrow..and I am due for one tomorrow as well!!

Depends where your from, I had a subchorionic hematoma so I had to have 2 in the first trimester but here in Canada we generally only have one at 20 weeks.

I think one at 20wk for anatomy scan is standard of care, unless otherwise indicated. That is what I had with DD, but had issues early with lo and had two before 9wks. Not another till 20wks, which is ok with me cuz that means it's going good!!

I've had 2 ultrasounds so far. just had a surprise u/s yesterday and the baby was everywhere moving lol

I only get one as well. If she would let me I wouldn't have any at all! But that's just my personal opinion

In canada we only get them at 12 weeks and around 20 weeks unless there is reason to need more. Don't worry... 20 weeks will be here before you know it!

i only get one unless there is a reason for one. i did have one at 12 weeks because the nurse couldnt find babys hb with the doppler so they did a us just to be sure all was well...next one is at 20 weeks

I was military with my last 3 and got one at 12 and then 20 wks. Then this one they wernt going to do one but I talked my dr into letting me have one.
