I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and CFS a couple years ago but am sure I've had it for several years (since my car accident). My mom also has had it for over 15 years now. I got off all my meds earlier this year when we decided to start ttc. I had a mc last month but just found out I'm pregnant again. Only about 4.5 weeks but so extremely exhausted all the time. My CFS was bad enough before I got pregnant. And I'm worried about my hips because I have always had a lot of pain in my hips and am scared about how painful it will be when I get futher along. I am glad there are others who are in this same situation : )

I was diagnosed with fibro last April and finally decided I needed some meds to help with the extreme lack of sleep. I started Cymbalta (35mg) in November. I'm 7w, 2d right now and am concerned because I wasn't able to get off Cymbalta before I got pregnant. I've read a lot about Cymbalta and pregnancy and I'm scared to try and get off of it right now for fear of miscarriage. At the same time I don't want to continue to take it. I won't have my first prenatal apt until March 8th, so I don't know what my midwife will advise me to do. The dr who prescribed it as well as my pain management dr don't seem to know much about it. Does anyone have any advice on safely getting off Cymbalta while pregnant? I'm really worried :(

Have you ladies tried acupuncture? I haven't, but have been hearing more about studies showing that it is effective in managing pain and helping with fibro symptoms. It might be worth trying since you want to avoid your drugs during pregnancy.

My name is misty, and I have fibromyalgia.
I was diagnosed in 2003, at least officially, I'm having a hard time finding good ways of managing the pain.
Especially now that I'm pregnant.
I hope this group helps each other and takes off. We all need support because living with fibromyalgia is hard.
Big hugs to all

I'm curious.
When you feel the baby move does it ever affect your pressure points?
I've noticed that every time he's moving it hurts like the dickens.
I'm 37 weeks right now, and this has gone on since 19 weeks.
Any thoughts?
