I would totally recommend 'A labor of love'. I've not had a chance to use one but have read nothing but great stories. My hubby will not allow the cost into out budget. He's all Dave Ramsey. LOL
I've listed the website below just in case you are interested.
www.alaboroflove.org -
Info from their website:
"We are the most experienced doula group in the state. Our group (the doulas currently working with our company) has supported couples in more than 1000 births!
We are available for unlimited telephone and email support throughout pregnancy.
We offer prenatal meetings- one minimum, often two to discuss your birth ideals and to get to know each other more.
We provide unlimited labor support- one fee no matter how long your labor may be. Usually we will attend you during early labor in your home, depending on location and distance to the hospital.
We offer massage, guided imagery, some reflexology, position suggestions, and guidance during labor.
If possible, we take photographs and write a birth story or timeline for your review after the birth.
We stay an hour or so after the birth to assist with breastfeeding. Most of our doulas have personal breastfeeding experience to share with you in helping you initiate breastfeed successfully.
We offer a postpartum meeting to help you with any problems and for the doula to see "her baby," once you are ready to get out and about.
We back each other up in case of an emergency that does not allow us to attend your birth, but you choose your primary doula.
Our labor doula fees range from $425 for less experienced doulas to $700 for a more experienced doula team called the Ladies of the Labyrinth and are all inclusive of the services above. A fee is paid by an initial retainer of $200 and the balance being due two weeks before your due date. We also offer payment plans and never want our fee to discourage your use of one of our doulas. Contact Teresa for an agreement to be sent to you via email."

I went to Babies are us to finish out my list and was so stoked to find out that they price matched.
I used the 'red laser' app on my iPhone and scanned the fisher price deluxe bouncer. In the store they had it for $49.99, my red laser found it on eBay for $35.99 and the cashier honored it off my phone.
so love getting a good deal!

Hi Ladies!
Did you know Atlanta is getting a birth center? It's still in the beginning stages, but you can visit the website and their facebook page for updates.
www.atlantabirthcenter.org from here you can link over to the FB page.
My midwives at Intown Midwifery (Margaret Strickhouser and Anjili Aurora) and Dr. Bootstaylor are the co-founders.
Dr. Bootstaylor wa recently named one of the top OB's. One last tidbit about him, he runs an u/s spot that would put Spa Sydell to shame. LOL. It's called See Baby ;)
Hope you get a chance to check them out.

Our goal is to have every parent in the Atlanta metro be well aware of the Atlanta Birth Center by the end of October 2011. The key will be to reach beyond the “birthing community” to parents who are unaware that they have better, safer, cheaper birth options. Please network with everyone you know to tell them why Atlanta Birth Center is needed and how they can get more information.
We will be holding Atlanta Birth Center “Meet ‘n Greets” around the city, where parents and grandparents can come to meet the co-founders of the Atlanta Birth Center and learn more about birthing options. To help organize an Atlanta Birth Center “Meet ‘n Greet”, please contact Amy Nosek the “Word of Mouth” Team Lead, amy.nosek@atlantabirthcenter.org
We are reaching out to people for two reasons:
1. To help them learn about their birth options
2. To find contacts that will help us raise real money
At our last event, we met one woman who is closely connected with executives at two major corporations and another woman who is not only a grant writer but also the daughter of an executive at a large non-profit organization. If you know any well-connected or high-powered people who you think might be able to help us, please let us know!
