What do you eat for breakfast? I can only have 15 carbs. I hate eggs so much, not to mention hate having to cook every morning. So many dishes, plus I have a toddler who wants to hang out with me in the mornings, not stand at the kitchen gate and whine.
I'm so frustrated already, and I'm still in the first tri...

I was diagnosed with GD 3 weeks ago and have been following my diet so my levels have been great. I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and my baby was in the 95% for his weight. I went to the doctor yesterday and my baby boy is measuring in the 38 week when I am only 33 weeks. Doctor explained to me the riskes of a large baby with VD and she freaked me out. I am scared that I am having a large baby due to GD. Anyone else measure large but ended up have an average size baby????

I was diagnosed with GD about 3 weeks ago. So far, my 2 hour post meal numbers have been great (100 or under) but my fasting numbers tend to run a little high (100ish) with the occasional number around 90. My doctor gave me two weeks to get them under control or I have to start taking insulin at night. Any suggestions?

So I have a fear of needles. Can't watch when I get blood work done, and now the diabetes center just informed me that they want me on insulin ASAP. I'm so scared. Anyone else have to give themselves insulin? And how bad is it really?

Hey, I'm new to the group. Just got told this evening I have GD. Have to call tomorrow and get an appointment with dietician. I'm bummed. I thought I was doing so well this pregnancy too. I'm 25 wks and have only gained 6 pounds!!! Been eating good and everything. I guess not good enough. Has anyone on here made big enough changes with their diet to avoid meds???

I think I'm finally getting the hang of this special diet thing. My numbers were mostly high for my first week but now that I'm kinda figuring out what I actually can and can not eat my numbers are down and leveling out. The hardest part for me is my mega chocolate cravings!! Just found some yummy looking jello that is very low in carbs and hoping if I have that as an occational snack I might be ok. Hope all you new GD ladies are getting it too!! :)
