Hi ladies just wondering how are you deciding about a middle name , traditional, another name you just like or maybe no middle name? How do go about it 😊

We started off with names we liked and could've easily stuck with that but have ended up choosing names that honor family members as it felt like the right fit for us. Good luck! :-)

We are going to use a family name. It is is so nice to be able to remember or honour a family member. My DD has my beloved favourite nanna's name as her middle name, my DS has my DHs grandfathers name and this one will have either my dads name or my nuns name. I can't wait to see their face when I tell them :)

We picked a name we liked for ds. We chose Samuel Jacob. For no reason other than we liked the sound of it. Surname starts with W so we didnt want names starting with a, e, or o that would make a word. If we had a girl she was having my maiden name May spelled Mae.

My hubby is maori so has a maori middle name that his grandfather gave him.. So we thought it would be nice to have our kids grandfather (hubbys dad) to give them a maori middle name.. Especially as he is still in nz and really doesnt get to come over much..

It's tradition in my hubby's family to have the first born boy to have his dads name as his middle name and for a girl we were going to use our mums middle name because they are the same :)

We had two girls names picked out and I liked both so we picked one for her first name and the other name worked well as a middle name, she was going to have my name as her middle name but I didn't like it as much

I'm a strong believer of not giving middle names unless they mean something, like honoring a past friend/family member or it's a family name. That's just me though..

Our dd's name is Emma and we were only going to give her a first name as our surname is 13 letters long, but once she was born I decided that she would have a middle name to honour her dad. Hubby's name is George and I was never going to call our son if we had one George so dd's name is Emma Georgia.

My SD has a middle name that goes with her first name. Her first name means blossoming/blooming so they picked rose as a middle name.

With our first, we chose my husband's late father's first name. It was hugely important to my hubby & therefore hugely important to me (FIL passed away b4 I met DH). My hubby was so stoked to have a son to name after his dad. With our second, we used my maiden name (Curtis) which flowed well with his first name.

I like using names that have meaning behind them - naming my kids after someone important in our lives. I figure a middle name is good for that, we can honour someone special by naming our child after them. If we had a daughter, her middle name would have been Evelyn-Jean. Evelyn is my great grandma's first name, & her daughter's (my grandma) middle name on Dad's side. Jean is my Granny's first name (Mum's side). That way I would have been honouring both grandma's & even my great grandma. But we had two boys!! πŸ˜‰

For the boys name we have chosen, Elijah xavior- the middle name is in memory of my partner cousin who passed away 2years ago, and for the girls name sahara Mali- Mali means "little one" in Serbian and my partner use to work with an old Serbian lady who would call him that- since he told me the story we both loved the name but we've had a few friends call their kids it so decided to use it as a middle name

My dd has my nans name as her middle name, which is also my mums middle name and mine. If I have another daughter she will get my other grandmothers name which is also my sisters middle name, my sister can't have children so I thought that would be nice. If we have a son it will be my hubby's name.

I let my dad choose the middle name. It could be either dads first or middle name. Dad doesn't like his first name so we decided on his middle name - James.

Mine has been pretty easy! My first is Coda Andrew, Andrew is my brother who passed away in 99. My second is Logan Coda, coda was our first who was stillborn. Our third is Hunter Michael, michael is my hubby and our fourth is Adriana Maree, Maree is my middle name!

My dh has a family tradition of naming their sons James Robert or Robert James. Dh mum broke the tradition just keeping those names as middle names. We are having a girl and dh wants her middle name to be Jamie. I'm not too keen on the name but understand it's significance and we will probably go with it.

Middle names for our bub will be from my side of the family as the kids all get dh family name. Our first has my middle name and this one will have my fathers middle name as its Blaire a unisex name. My partner doesn't even get a choice! Lol

We are probably going to use my brothers middle name. We are very close to him and we think it will be nice to have bub share the name.

Thanks seem like the most common is a family name of some sort, that's what we are thinking as well😊
