steri-strips on your incision

I had a c-section on January 14th, and I left the hospital on the 16th, I still have the steri-strips on my incision! So its been two weeks, should I let them fall off on their own or have my OB pull them off, or should I pull them off after a shower? I am not hurting (okay barely) anymore and I would like to shave my privates as they are getting out of hand (lol TMI, sorry )

Did any of you ladies get the steri-strips after getting your incision stapled? Did u let your OB take em off or did u take em off or let them fall off on its own? hehe thanks ladies!

Mine fell off by themselves. I'd call my doc to see if it's okay to take them off myself. I was told they would fall off within 10 days

I left mine on until they started coming off at the edges then after my shower I started pulling off gently. It was nice to get them off and clean around the incision.

My doc said to let them fall off. But if one half came off, I for sure just pulled the other half off so it wasn't hanging there...

I had internal stitches thank god staples scare the hell out of me! Does it hurt to have the staples removed?

I had my staples removed yesterday and they did hurt a little when they took them out. I am sore a little but I am glad to be home. I was told to let the strips fall off on their own. I will see my ob in two weeks.

When I left the hospital last week, they told me not to touch my Steri-strips and just let them fall off. But your Dr might have a different opinion.

Last section I had staples. I had them removed 5 days post section and didn't feel a thing. I was freaking out before hand. This time I was glued.

I had staples with my first and second c-sections. They removed them about a week later and it actually felt good, the nurses are very gentle. Then they put the sterile strips across the incision. I believe they fell off on their own. Now it's been just shy of five years and won't know until 2/16 if they will staple or glue me up. I'm hearing glue seems to be the new thing, we'll see.

I don't exactly have pain but my left thigh has been numb since my epidural.

Like completely numb? Scary. My right leg feels cramped like a muscle no swelling or lump & I scared my self into thinking it's a blood clot. C section was 1/20

I keep getting a shooting pain in my upper left thigh?! Very painful and only lasts a second. But I haven't a clue what it is.

Mine were starting to peel off so I just pulled them the rest of the way off. It was about 10-12 days post-op.

Steri strips are only going to help your incision. It keeps it from pulling and let's it heal nice and smooth. I have had two sections and about to have my third. I'm a nurse and when my steri strips began falling off I put new ones on nice and tight for about 6 Weeks. My incision is smooth, flat, thin and barely noticable.. Keep them on as long as possible and if you want you can buy them at the drug store ;)

I had my section 10 days ago. Had the staples removed on day 3 when I left the hospital. The nurse said that my dr would take them off if they didn't fall off on their own.
