Glucola alternative?

Can you ladies help me with a natural alternative to drinking glucola for the 1 hr GD test? I thought I read a post on here about it, but can't find it. My nautropath could not help with this and all I've found on line is either Brachs jelly beans (which still have artificial flavors/colors) or skip the test (which is not an option for me)! Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this!

I decided to cave and just do it. However, I asked for the lemon lime flavor, which was clear, and so I avoided artificial color if not flavor.

Their are alternatives but not many Dr's will do them.
Jelly beans
M&M's
Or a breakfast with lots of carbs and sugar.

Omm-my OB agreed and gave me a special note to bring to the clinic with me, but he left it up to me to find the alternate meal and now I can't figure it out!!! Do you know what the breakfast would include?

I would say something like OJ, french toast with maple syrup & maybe some natural vanilla yogurt. Personally I LOVE Brown Cows Maple yogurt. but if you have maple syrup, that might be to much. lol

Hmm I never thought about what you drink for that test. You only have to drink it once. Is it really that bad? I eat very well but still indulge in ice cream which I'm sure has artificial colors and flavors.

I did drink it...But I also got the Lemon-Lime flavor. It still tasted like pure sugar but atleast it was clear!

I drank the orange one (only choice) when pregnant with DS, failed and had to do 3 hour test, but luckily passed. I had really just started my journey with organic eating! Now I eat no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners so it seems crazy to expect a normal result if my body doesn't normally process those things! I eat sweets, but only all-natural ones, so I keep hoping to figure this out to keep my baby and body healthy without compromising my values :)

I eat very healthy organic local food. I am in very good health and weight and I have gestational diabetes. This is the 2nd time. It's because the hormones in some woman just make it hard for the body to process sugar. It's not because you consume to much. Well of course it can be.
The diet is such a pain because I do not eat meat and now I can't eat most fruits.
Good luck!

Protein is not a good choice for a glucola test. I was actually told that I could eat the morning of my test as long as it was an egg or 2, meat & a slice of toast. I would stick with natural sugars like maple syrup & fruit. The french toast is just my fave thing to put maple syrup on. Of course you could do pancakes or waffles instead
