Version 1.3 of Palm's webOS made changes to the way photos work that prevents BabyBump from being able to add photos. A fix has been submitted to Palm and we hope it is released soon.
I cannot download the latest update. It says "App Catalog unavailable. Try again later." or gives a similar error message.
Palm's App Catalog is in beta and sometimes gives errors when downloading or updating an app. This has been reported to Palm and we've seen this problem on many other apps. Please try your download again later. Unfortunately, the download process is not under the app creator's control. Please take this into consideration when reviewing apps. Thanks!
I cannot login/register with my email address. BabyBump says my email address is invalid.
There is a bug in version 1.0.2 of BabyBump that makes it reject any email address with a non-alphanumeric character before the @ sign. So email addresses like test.user@test.com or test_user@test.com are rejected. A fix has been submitted to Palm and is under review. For now, please use an email address without these characters and we will gladly change your email address once the fix has been approved. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Also note that email addresses are currently only used as a means of backing up your data. Your data is associated with your email address so that if you ever lose your phone you can login with that same email address and retrieve your BabyBump data. It is also used to email you if you lose your password.
The Profile screen says I am on Week #, Day 7. Shouldn't it advance to the next week?
BabyBump counts days of the week from Day 1 to Day 7. So you will be on Day 7 on the last day of your week and on Day 1 on the first day of the next week. For example, if today is Week 17, Day 7, then tomorrow will be Week 18, Day 1.
What information is available about my pregnancy and where can I find it?
The main screen of BabyBump is the profile screen. From here, you can tap the Baby, Your Body, Journal, Photos, Kick Counter, or Contractions buttons. The Baby and Your Body screens give detailed week-by-week information about the changes happening to you and your baby. Keep checking back each week for more info!
How do I change my profile photo?
You can tap the profile photo to change it. You can choose to take a new photo with the camera or choose an existing photo from your library. After you have chosen a photo, the photo will replace the default profile photo and will be saved even after you quit the application. However, if at some later time, you delete the photo from your library, BabyBump will no longer display a profile photo and you will need to choose a different photo by tapping the empty profile photo.
How do I keep a photo diary of my pregnancy?
The Photos button on the main BabyBump screen allows you to manage your pregnancy-related photos. Tapping the "Add Photo" button allows you to add photos from your camera or phone's photo library. When you add a photo, it is tagged with the current date. For example, you may want to add a photo of your belly for each week of your pregnancy so you can see a time-lapsed slideshow of your progress.
I see a blank photo for my profile photo or in the Photos section. Where did it go?
As of the first release of BabyBump, the Palm Pre does not have the ability to upload photos to a server. Your photos only exist on your Palm Pre device and are not backed up to the alt12 servers. If you delete a photo from your phone, it is also deleted from BabyBump.
How do I change the units used for my weight and waist measurements?
Tap the BabyBump menu in the upper-left hand corner of your app and select the Preferences and Accounts menu item. On the Preferences screen, select the Measurements section using the dark pink drop-down menu in the upper-right hand corner. Here you can choose inches (in) or centimeters (cm) for waist measurements and pounds (lb) or kilograms (kg) for weight.
Where are the charts?
BabyBump charts your weight and waist measurements over time so you can see how your body has changed. To get to the charts, from the Profile screen, go to the Journal screen, tap the Measurements section if it isn't already open, and then tap the View Charts button.
How does BabyBump calculate estimated weight on the weight chart?
Estimated weight is based on your Body Mass Index (BMI), which is calculated from your pre-pregnancy weight and height. Note that the estimated weight gain is only an estimate. You should consult with a doctor if you are concerned about changes in your weight during your pregnancy. The BabyBump weight gain estimation is based on information provided by ACOG at the following link: ACOG.
How do I delete a contraction session?
On the Contractions screen, use the Start/Stop menu in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to go to the History menu item. You will be see an Averages section at the top and a History section in the bottom half of the screen. You can swipe left or right on a history row to delete a contraction.
How do I send an email of my Kick Counts or Contraction tracking sessions?
In the lower right-hand corner of the Kick Counter and Contraction Tracker screens, there is a paper airplane icon. Tap the airplane to send an email containing the full history of your kicks or contractions.
